Tuning Si surface electronic structure by self-assembled monolayers (SAMs)
I have grown thiol-derived SAMs on bare Si (111) surface, with the aids of water contact angle measurement, synchrotron radiation based XPS and NEXAFS, I have determined the surface chemical structure, the molecular orientation, and the surface band alignment condition.

Engineering the electronic structure of optoelectronic semiconductors by van der Waals materials
I have successfully studied the Schottky barrier evolution induced by graphene flakes on n-type GaN surface. Based on this experience, I will further explore the electronic interactions of van der Waals materials on optoelectronic semiconductors.
